Here's an interesting concept: take a normal girl (with curves and braces) and put her into the evil world of high end fashion. The result is Ugly Betty - a successful ABC TV series.
Produced by Penelope Cruz, who makes guest appearances on the Ugly Betty show, the series tells a story of Betty Suarez finding her way at the "famous" fashion magazine MODE. Betty is hired to assist the editor .. mainly because the dad of the editor (and the owner of the magazine), thinks that his son won't be fooling around with her.
However, it soon becomes clear that Betty Ugly is a very smart lady, and together with the editor, Daniel Meade, they fight fight their way into the selfish world of the MODE magazine.
The show is produced by Penelope Cruz. Running on Mondays on ABC.
